Biosketch: Ameera Mansour

Ameera is a doctoral candidate at the Swedish School of Library and Information Science (SSLIS), University of Borås. She is also a member of the Linnaeus Centre for Research on Learning, Interaction and Mediated Communication in Contemporary Society (LinCS), University of Gothenburg. Ameera holds a Master degree in Informatics from the School of Computer Science Physics and Mathematics, Linnaeus University, and a Bachelor degree in Computer and Information Science from Al-Najah National University.

In her doctoral project, Ameera, studies the ways that people (i.e. mothers) appropriate social media (i.e. Facebook groups) into their everyday lives. She focuses on the ways that they perceive, seek, share, negotiate, and evaluate information in these social media groups.

Her research interests include: Information seeking online, Information practices online, Information Literacy, information credibility assessments and perceptions online, Social Media research, Facebook communities, Sociocultural theory, affordances, online research, and online ethnography.
