Biosketch: Solveig Sotevik

Since 2001 she is employed at the University of Gothenburg and has mainly worked with teaching within the field of ICT and learning in teacher education. Her background is as a preschool teacher and between 1974 and 1998 she has worked in schools in Gothenburg.
Solveig Sotevik has a Degree of Bachelor of Science with a major in Educational and Instructional Technology. Her approach to educational issues is with a specific interest in concrete practices adopting applied technology in learning and instruction. She is currently a PhD student at the IT-faculty, University of Gothenburg.

Her dissertation project concerns learning and instruction in teacher education and in particular student teachers' use of Videopaper aiming to integrate field-based and college-based educational practices to achieve both disciplinary and professional competencies. The analytical tools in her dissertation project originate from the socio cultural- and activity theoretical framework. The analyses are based on fieldwork and video recordings and address questions of what the applied technology of Videopaper means for the integration of educational sciences- and the teacher profession discourses in order to make both visible and learnable for the student teachers.
