Biosketch: Katerina Cerna

Katerina Cerna is a doctoral student at Gothenburg University at the Department of Education, Communication and Learning, where she is connected to a research group, Learning and IT. Her own project focuses on change of the nursing practice in relation to new digital tools. More specifically she aims to explore how the nurses will develop as professionals when they gain access to new type of data collected through Internet of Things devices.

She is part of several projects:

  • EfterCancern project aims for improving life quality of cancer surviving patients by the implementation of new technologies
  • DigitaL project focuses on learning in the digitalized workplace
  • E-health is a network that focuses on e-health

Interests:

  • What do we learn in design process?
  • How to develop strategies to talk about new type of data?
  • The Internet of Things and its consequences for healthcare
  • What are the digital competences in the nursing profession?
