Michael Hansen obtained a B.A in Education 1997 and was accepted as a Ph.D.-student at the Department of Education, Göteborg University the same year. He has been working with advanced quantitative analysis of large data set as assistant researcher in two projects 1997-2000 and 2003-2005, respectively. During 2003-2005 he was also involved in introductory courses in research methodology. In 2005 Michael Hansen was employed as Ph.D.-student in the ILU-project with prof. Sverker Lindblad as supervisor.
Michael Hansen is active in the Politics of Education research group (PoP) and working on a study on classroom research as research practice and a system of communication. He is looking at the ways classrooms and teaching are constructed as phenomena in classroom research and try to see how the production of knowledge in this field is or has been organized - as a scientific field but also in individual research projects. One aspect of this is related to motives for classroom research, sources of research funding and research audiences.
