Biosketch: Martin Harling

My name is Martin Harling and I have been working for the Department of Education at University of Gothenburg since 2003 as a lecturer. My main contribution to teaching during this period has been in the fields of special needs education and pedagogy with a special focus on relations between education and society. Issues of normalization/categorization and inclusion/exclusion has been of special interest. This work has also involved tutoring and development of new courses etc.

For the moment I am involved in the LinCS research project with the task to investigate relations between education policy, classroom interaction and identeties in contemporary society. Doing this I will review research on "the politics of learning" and also explore the LinCS interaction database of classroom research. One focus in this work will be implications of international comparisions and the politics involved in these.
