Biosketch: Gunilla Granath

Until the turn of the millennium I worked as a journalist, mostly focusing issues of culture, education and youth. During 15 years, beginning 1973, I edited a cultural magazine for young people, titled Ordets Makt [Word Power], published by Prisma with an edition of 4-6000. It was used in Swedish high schools and upper secondary schools as an alternative textbook in Swedish and social science.

1996 and 1999 I published two ethnographic studies, one about high school and the other one about teacher education. In 2000 I changed my line of career and began to study at the department of education in Gothenburg and started my doctoral studies. For three years I worked as a research assistant at the research project Evaluation and School Development, financed by the Swedish Research Council. Since 2002 I have worked part time as university lecturer.
