LinCS-DSES (Doctoral School in Educational Sciences) was a doctoral school funded by The Swedish Research Council. It has now been terminated.
Each course will have two parts. One basic part (5 hec) and one extension part (5 hec) that is optional. The first part is organised as a regular course. The second part is an individual part in which the participant independently writes a research essay within the topic of the course. This essay is supervised by one of the teachers of the course and is examined in a seminar.
Graphically the first basic part of the course can be described as follows:
Each Ph. D. student has to check with her/his supervisor that the course may be included in the course program for the candidate.
Active participation in all course activities is a requirment. This includes active participation in the net activities and in physical meetings. In addition, the student has to write a final essay which is discussed during the second physical meeting. This essay has to be posted on the course web-site no later than a week before start of the second physical meeting.
All coursework, including the writing of essays and on-line activities, will take place in English.
